Wallpaper, like the successive layers of presence of occupants, places that are defined by the presence of the occupants, places that are defined by the absence of all those who never came and will never come…
Description
The image of a demolished building is video projected onto the wall of the courtyard. The precise positions and superimposed images of various rooms of the apartments and their remaining wallpaper are still visible.
Ramona measures the spaces, the distances, the bricks, using her own body as a yardstick. She counts the number of years of sleep, of sorrow, laughter, discussions, disputes… contained in the rooms. She makes a mistake in her statistics and turns to her right brain for the answer. The public enters the building. Sintija adds up the television programs of the evening and counts the number of hours spent on the telephone, fighting, discussing, kissing…. She prefers the fiction contained in the wallpaper…
